Pancakes are a versatile and internationally loved dish that can be served in many ways. The thin, delicate pancakes can be served sweet with a variety of toppings such as fruit, jam, chocolate or whipped cream, or salty with a cheese, meat or vegetable filling. Preparing pancakes is quick and easy, and thanks to the possibility of modifying the ingredients, everyone can adapt the recipe to their own tastes. They are ideal for breakfast, dessert or dinner.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 glass of milk
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for sweet pancakes)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • Butter or oil for frying

INSTRUCTIONS

Mixing the ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, milk, sparkling water, eggs, sugar and salt. Add the melted butter or oil. Mix until the dough is smooth and lump-free.

Frying pancakes:

  • Heat a frying pan and lightly grease it with butter or oil. Pour a thin layer of batter into the pan and fry for about 1-2 minutes, until the pancake is browned on one side. Flip and fry another 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Serving:

  • Serve the pancakes warm with your favourite toppings such as jam, fruit, whipped cream, chocolate or cheese.Frying the pancakes:

NOTES
