INGREDIENTS
- 400g white beans
- 200g smoked bacon
- 300g country sausage or Silesian sausage
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 500 ml broth (meat or vegetable)
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 allspices
- 1 teaspoon of marjoram
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of oil
INSTRUCTIONS
Bean preparation:
- Pour cold water over the beans and soak overnight. Then cook until tender (about 1.5 hours).
Meat preparation:
- Dice the smoked bacon and sausage. Fry in oil until browned.
Preparing the base:
- In the same pan, fry the onion and garlic. Add the tomato paste, bay leaf, allspice, salt, pepper and marjoram.
Combining ingredients:
- In a large pot, mix the cooked beans, meat and onions with the spices. Add the bouillon. Cook over low heat for 30 minutes until flavours combine.
NOTES
- Meat: You can add more sausage or replace the bacon with ham.
- Beans: Use canned beans to save time.
